How old am I?
Enter your birth date below to calculate your age. Choose Gregorian, Islamic Hijri, or Solar Hijri to match the calendar on your birth record.
The calculator shows your age in the selected calendar, converts your birth date to the other calendars, and displays the elapsed time in days, weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds.
Understanding your age calculation
Why can Hijri and Gregorian ages differ?
An Islamic Hijri year follows lunar months and is shorter than a Gregorian year. For the same birth date, your age in completed Hijri years can therefore be higher than your age in completed Gregorian years. Your birthday is checked against the calendar you selected.
What do days and seconds mean?
Years follow your selected calendar. The totals in days, weeks, hours, minutes, and seconds describe elapsed time from the converted birth date. If you enter only a date, these time totals use the start of that day rather than your actual time of birth. Month totals marked “Approx.” are estimates.
How to calculate Islamic age
- Select Islamic Hijri in the calendar options.
- Enter the day, month, and year of your Hijri birth date.
- Read your completed Hijri years and the equivalent Gregorian and Solar Hijri birth dates in the result.
Can Hijri dates vary by one day?
Yes. Hijri date conversions can differ by a day depending on the calendar method or local moon sighting. For an official record, use the date shown on that record.
